URBAN LEXICONS explores how embracing collective local identity, meaning and belonging can evolve our cities and public spaces for the future, through socially-responsive design. Through action-research, this community of practice explores, experiments and shares tools to understand the conversations between people and place. The aim is to reflect people's stories and hopes amid changing cities and translate those into representative public spaces.
Places are made by many hands and disciplines – we need to bring together those who have the ideas and influence to shape cities for the long term, with those who understand the soft powers of creation, storytelling, hearing and responding.
